Telecommunication is the transmission of information by various types of technologies over wire, radio, optical or other electromagnetic systems. It is also an industry: the operators who build those networks, the spectrum they are licensed to use, and the terms on which they resell access to it.

These posts are a snapshot of the late 2000s, when mobile internet in the Baltics and the Nordics stopped being a novelty and became the connection people actually used. Operators were competing on coverage and megabits, national broadband projects were being signed, and the iPhone was arriving one exclusive carrier deal at a time. What kept drawing me back was that the interesting part was rarely the handset — it was who controlled the pipe, and on what terms they were willing to share it.
